E' uno specialista in rapimenti di bambini per il St. Kinda Consulting, di base a Manhattan, una multinazionale che si muove nella terra di nessuno dove la legge non può andare. E' molto bravo nel suo lavoro, intelligente, sicuro di se, senza regole.

Fino a che un suo amico muore cercando di ucciderlo.

Ora Faroe è fuori dal gioco. In pensione. Sta cercando di salvare un mondo che non vuole essere salvato.

Poi Grace viene da lui, passato e presente coincidono, e Faroe si ritrova risucchiato nelle ombre sulle tracce di un killer che tiene la vita del figlio di Grace nelle proprie mani macchiare di sangue.
