1) Come the Morining (February 2000): Racconta come un giovane nobiluomo diventa adulto e di come la sua fama di coraggio gli procura un matrimonio reale ma pieno di problemi. It chronicles the coming-of-age of a young nobleman whose feats of bravery earn him a royal but troublesome marriage. During a borderland battle, 13-year-old Waryk de Graham uses his father's sword to impale the last standing enemy, a Norman lord, as his father and uncle lie dead. Scottish King David has seen the act, and assumes guardianship of the robust boy. Ten years later it is 1137 A.D., the English monarchy is in chaos and Scotland is wary of attack from the Vikings and Normans. The king summons Lady Mellyora MacAdin of Blue Isle, whose father has recently died, to the Scottish royal seat of Stirling. In a strategic move to keep the Viking island secure for his kingdom, he has arranged for Mellyora to marry Sir Waryk , now his most respected warrior knight. She defiantly objects to the marriage, since she is already in love; while Waryk is equally dismayed, having been poised to wed his beautiful mistress. The narrative follows the war of wills between calmly intelligent, war-scarred Waryk, who accepts the king's command, and wily, irate Mellyora, who is trained in swordsmanship and repeatedly tries to escape to her utopian Blue Isle. Waryk is faster, but his expertise in outwitting the enemy is tested by this Viking sprite. Drake's characters are richly detailed; their romantic interplay is set among the vividly rendered skirmishes and treachery of medieval Scotland.

2) Conquer the Night (July 2000): La storia di Arryn Graham e Kyra Beniface. La storia di due persone ritratte in un turbolento periodo della Scozia. Un tempo in cui persone come William Fallace, Andrei de Moray combattevano Edward I d’Inghilterra per la libertà. Con maestria la Drake ha raccontato una bellissima storia d’amore mista a fatti storici reale. Ma nemmeno una volta il racconto ha mistificato i fatti storici né lo scopo della storia di due persone dalla forte personalità. Non sarete annoiati con fatti, date e cose simili. A time when people like William Wallace, Andrew deMoray fought England's Edward I for freedom. Skillfully Drake has told a beautiful love story mixed in with true historical facts. Yet not once has this story compromised historical facts nor the purpose of the story of two strong-willed people. You will not be bored with facts, dates and such. Yet the story flows through events; such as, Berwick, Stirling Bridge, yet remains true to the romance novel we want to read. Here is a story of a man, Arryn, hurt, bitter, wanting revenge against Kinsey Darrow, who destroyed his home, his people, killed his wife and his unborn child. Kyra who is to marry Kinsey, is taken prisoner by Arryn and is to be used as a tool for revenge. Yet though all the hurt, bitterness, misunderstandings, a love is born that will survive.

3) Seize the Dawn (February 2001): Lady Eleanor of Clarin ha ereditato dai suoi genitori un grande castello in Inghilterra. Lady Eleanor of Clarin has inherited her parents grand English castle. However, she must marry and produce an heir before the English king decides to assign a husband for her. She chooses to marry a life- long family friend, even though he is decades older than herself. She needs a respectable English husband to keep Castle Clarin. While on her way to France to meet her intended husband, Eleanor's ship is seized by French pirates. In a stroke of bad luck, the French pirates are then raided by Scottish warriors. One of the leaders of the Scottish men looks familiar to Eleanor. Both she and the Scotsman recognize one another at the same time. She is the lady who showed up on the battle field years earlier, and knocked him out as he was fighting against her countrymen. In a panic, Eleanor jumps into the Irish sea to try to swim for land. Her chances are not good, but anything is better than facing the wrath of this Scottish warrior, Brendan Graham. Brendan knows that she can not survive in the freezing water, so he jumps to rescue her. He has no love for his enemy, but his human decency causes him to save her. Once they reach France, Brendan and his friends hope to use Eleanor to both collect a ransom from her wealthy fiance, as well as using her as a bargaining tool with King Phillip of France. During the time they spend together, Eleanor and Brendan grow attracted to one another. She asks him to be her first lover, before she has to marry an elderly man. Once Brendan touches her, he is obsessed. He has to be with her as much as he can, savoring the days with her until he has to turn her over to her fiance. The two fall in love, Brendan telling her "I could die in you." When the time comes for Eleanor to marry her fiance, Alain, Brendan can't believe that she intends to go through with it. But Eleanor has no choice, as King Phillip warns her that he will hunt her down if she turns away from his good friend, Alain. Brendan offers to run away with her, but Eleanor fears the king. On the day of the wedding, Brendan goes to the church. When he hears Eleanor make vows to Alain, he storms to his ship in hopes of sailing back to Scotland and forgetting her. When Eleanor and Alain reach Clarin, Alain becomes deathly ill. As he is dying, he claims that he has been poisoned. Immediately, the sheriff accuses Eleanor. He has heard rumors that she has a Scottish lover, and he claims that she married Alain for his money. During a sham of an investigation, it becomes obvious that Eleanor will be found guilty and most likely hanged. She has to escape Clarin. Brendan hears of the tragedies at Clarin and immediately rides to England to rescue Eleanor. The only safe place for her now is Scotland. However, enemies who want Eleanor's estate are determined to find her and murder her. Now Brendan and Eleanor must find peace with one another while their countries are at war. Brendan is fighting for freedom for Scotland, and for Eleanor's life.

4) Knight Triumphant (March 2002): Ambientato nella Scozia degli inizi del 1300 durante la guerra tra Robert the Bruce e re Edward I, il quarto libro della serie sulla famiglia Graham della Drake si apre con una lezione di storia spiegata come un racconto da fiaba, ma velocemente si lancia in una epica storia d’amore, guerra e condanna. Dopo essere fuggita dal Langley Castle, infestato dalla peste, e poco dopo la morte di suo marito, l’inglese Egrainia è catturata dal guerriero scozzese Eric Graham, che cerca di liberare la moglie e la figlia dalle prigioni di Langley. Set in Scotland in the early 1300s during the war between Robert the Bruce and King Edward I, the fourth book in Drake's Graham family series (following Seize the Dawn) opens with a history lesson disguised as a fairytale, but quickly launches into an epic story of love, war and conviction. After escaping plague-ridden Langley castle shortly following her husband's death, Englishwoman Igrainia is captured by Scottish warrior Eric Graham, who seeks to free his wife and daughter from Langley's prison. Upon learning that his daughter is already dead and his wife is dying from the disease, the warrior threatens to kill Igrainia if she cannot save her. In short order, Eric's wife dies, the warrior himself falls ill, Igrainia nurses him back to health and then she tries to flee back to England. Once recovered, Eric recaptures Igrainia and eventually forces her to marry him, a political move that benefits Scotland but enrages both Igrainia and King Edward. This lengthy romance is loaded with period detail and brutal battles between Bruce and the Brits but, thankfully, Eric and Igrainia's fitful romance is always at the forefront. Although it takes a considerable amount of time and many obstacles for the two to realize they love one another, this is a well-researched and thoroughly entertaining read.

5) The Lion in Glory (January 2003): Pieno di dettagli storici e battaglie sanguinose, il nuovo capitolo della serie della famiglia Graham della Drake ambientata nel quattordicesimo secolo, mette in competizione una donna inglese piena di risorse contro un arrogante guerriero scozzese. Stuffed full of historical detail and bloody battles, the newest installment in Drake's 14th-century Graham family series (Knight Triumphant, etc.) pits a resourceful Englishwoman against an overbearing Scottish warrior. The novel opens with an overview of Robert the Bruce's rise to power, which was helped along by funds exacted from fearful English families living on the borderlands. Lady Christina of Hamstead Heath is one of those fearful English, and when Bruce's men, led by Sir James Graham, arrive at her manor demanding money, she finds herself without anything to offer them but herself. James reluctantly agrees to take her hostage but soon comes to regret his decision. The two argue constantly. Their prime disagreement concerns Christina's brother, who has been wrongly accused of committing treason against the crown. Christina is determined to save Steven by sacrificing herself to the English lord who is holding him prisoner, but James refuses to let her do so. Rather than discuss the matter rationally, they insult and torment each other and then have sex.
