Rayner has wanted Kella since they were teens cavorting in the ancient countryside that belonged to their fathers. Now they are grown and in charge of their respective manors. The sparks between them should be enough to ignite a lifelong conflagration of passion. And they do, except for one tiny detail. At the time of his birth, Rayner's father arranged for his marriage to the daughter of another Lord. Rayner can't break his father's promise, no matter the personal cost.

Instead Rayner breaks Kella's heart choosing family honor over their intense passion. She tried to put him behind her, but now her manor is in financial disarray and she needs his help. Too proud to ask him for it, Kella must devise a way to get what she wants and make him think it's his idea. How convenient for her when he kidnaps her!

How inconvenient for him that the witch he's kidnapped could easily dissolve the bonds he thinks secures her. And yet the bond she's slipped around his heart can never be dissolved. They can't ignore the physical passion, but love might take a little longer. In fact, it might take a little bit of magick.

Rayner ha desiderato Kella da quando erano adolescenti nella antica campagna appartenuta ai loro padri. Ora sono cresciuti e al comando delle loro rispettive tenute. Invece Rayner rompe il cuore di Kella scegliendo l'onore della famiglia sopra la loro intensa passione. Lei cerca di dimenticarlo, ma ora la sua tenuta ha problemi finanziari e ha bisogno del suo aiuto. Troppo fiera per chiederglielo, Kella deve inventare un modo per ottenere quello che desidera e fargli pensare che è una sua idea. Quanto conveniente per lei quando lui la rapisce!

Quanto inopportuno per lui che la strega che ha rapito potrebbe facilmente dissolvere i legami che lui pensa la costringano.
