Living within the stucco walls of the isolated, exclusively female commune known as the Community, Claire has never experienced any significant temptation. When she leaves the shelter of those walls to resolve recent attacks on the Community's financial stability, she plans to also experience the seven basic temptations that purportedly run rampant in the outside world.

Claire hitches a ride with Frank Robbins, a cynical lawyer-turned-trucker. He isn't interested in any sort of long-term partnership, at least not initially, but he's more than willing to help Claire choose Her Favorite Vice.

Vivendo tra i muri pieni di stucchi della isolata, esclusiva comune femminile conosciuta come la Community, Claire non ha mai sperimentato nessuna significativa tentazione. Quando lascia il rifugio di quei muri per risolvere dei recenti attacchi alla stabilità finanziaria della Community, progetta anche di sperimentare le sette tentazioni capitali che a quanto si dice imperversano nel mondo esterno.

Claire ottiene un passaggio da Frank Robbins, un cinico avvocato diventato camionista. Lui non è interessato a nessuna relazione a lungo termine, almeno non inizialmente, ma è molto più che disposto ad aiutare Claire a scegliere il suo vizio preferito.
